NP Preceptors needed
Dear Potential Preceptors:
I am urgently seeking providers who may be interested and available to precept ARNP students for 1-2 days per week during the fall quarter (September 29 – December 12).
Currently, there is a deficit of clinical learning sites for our students, particularly in the areas of primary and internal medicine. We are hoping that you would be interested in precepting as it is a crucial piece of a healthcare provider's education that we have to offer for clinical practicum to our ARNP students.
Students have had course work in performing histories and physical examinations, pathophysiology, pharmacology and differential diagnosis. We are still in need of a few placements for our students in the AGNP and FNP tracks.
Your role as clinical preceptor would be to provide direct oversight and guidance, to facilitate our student's evaluations of clients, and to allow the student to compile a comprehensive list of differential diagnoses, formulate a conclusion, and develop a plan of care.
We understand how much precepting students can impact your schedule and we offer a few small benefits to compensate for this.
I cannot stress enough, that without the outstanding work of our preceptors, we could not prepare safe and competent practitioners. The time, dedication, and knowledge shared by our preceptors is indispensable. If you cannot commit to this fall we would be very interested in your participation in our program in future quarters. Thank you for taking the time to consider precepting.
